After the Fire...

Great news! The Finger Lakes Land Trust has purchased a lot of land that includes the parcel across the street from our driveway. So, now the land both behind the house and in front of the house are 'forever wild'. The sides are a little less secure, but when the current owner leaves the house next door, complete driveway rights revert to us, and for now, he is asking a ridiculous amount of money to buy the property. So, we're safe on that side for now. I don't know what the story is on the other side of the property.

Today we had sunshine, and it turns out that there is still some decent foliage to be seen.

Here we have a bunch of caged in pheasants on Game Farm Road. This is some kind of Cornell gig, and sometimes there are lots of game birds, and sometimes there are none. As you can see, there are a bunch of birds on 'the roof' taunting the pheasants.

And here is what the view from the driveway looked like today.

Tuesday

Tweetie, I don't think we're in Kansas anymore...

I would suggest viewing the hi-res copies of these. Pretty colorful! Since Sunday, it has been rainy and windy, and the extra-vivid leaves are now few and far between.

Monday

WHOMP, there it is!!!!!!!!

Looking ahead, I understand that the Colorado Rockies are like 22/23 or something like that. But, I'm pretty sure they're a hockey team, so I like the Sox' chances.

On Wednesday, god turned the electricity on - the trees got all yellow and red and orange. Unfortunately he also left the shower on. We finally got some sunshine yesterday. I have about 200 pictures of uniform mediocrity to sort through, but I will eventually share them with you all, my faithful readers.

And, finally, there is a presidential candidate I can get behind...http://tinyurl.com/ysa6qa
